Real Madrid are concerned by the image of new coach Rafa Benitez. A report in AS today says club directors are to advise the Spaniard to lose some weight and avoid any of the jokes about his appearance that he suffered in England while managing Liverpool. Madrid president Florentino Perez always takes the image of a coach or player into consideration before signing them but Benitez's coaching ability overshadowed his appearance, according to AS. However, some directors are concerned that jokes about Benitez's weight could impact on the club and they will advice him to lose some weight. Benitez was referred to as "fat Spanish waiter' by rival fans in England and Madrid want to avoid a repeat of any abuse regarding his appearance.
