This morning, the initiative "En Navidad, ningún niño sin juguete" ("For Christmas, no kids without presents") was launched at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu by Realmadrid Foundation together with Madrid' provincial authorities. When we heard that a player from the first team would be there, we started to try and guess. At first we thought it could be a Spanish player (since this is a local initiative), but given the Christmas context and the audience (children), we thought it would most probably be someone who oozes family values. And who better than Kaká --a dedicated husband and father-- to embody these values? As it turned out, we were right, it was Kaká! I can already hear you detractors take our fun away by pointing that it was a no-brainer since Ricardo had been taking part in the project ever since it started, back in Christmas 2009, but I'll pretend I can't hear you and still be happy we figured it out!

This project is an effort by Realmadrid Foundation, Madrid's provincial government and a local toy manufacturer to give out 4500 toys and games to underpriviledged children in Madrid and its region --children under custody as well as from immigrant families with few financial resources.

As Salvador Victoria --in charge of the department of Social Affairs for Madrid's province-- stated, Real Madrid is the most important club in the history of football, the most important brand in the sports world, and through its foundation, it shows that it's also the most important club in terms of solidarity.

The objective of this initiative is to contribute to the right of all children to learn values --such as the importance of team playing and sharing-- through games and hobbies.

After Enrique Sánchez --vicepresident of the foundation-- reminded us that there was nothing more beautiful than the smile of a child, the kids who were attending the event had the opportunity to have their Real Madrid jerseys and pictures signed by Kaká, who also distributed the presents. Kaká had the biggest smile on his face while interacting with the kids, and that also showed on the kids' faces.
