Preview: Real Madrid vs Real Zaragoza

by Apakshit Sachdeva Jan 28, 2012, 1:55 am

After a disappointing exit in the Copa del Rey the focus once again shifts back to the La Liga. Real Madrid will lock horns with Real Zaragoza in a home game.

It is a perfect opportunity for the men in white to bounce straight back. Sami Khedira looks certain to miss this game, the player has failed to recover from an ankle injury which he picked up against Malaga in the Copa del Rey.

Di Maria will also miss this game, he took a knock in training and will not be even on the bench for this game.

Pepe is expected to start the game in defense for Real Madrid. Pepe will play alongside Sergio Ramos, Ramos was sent off against Barcelona in the second leg but the suspension will not come into effect in the La Liga, he is eligible to play and should be selected to play in defense for this game.

Marcelo is also expected to start the game, the player was benched for the El Clasico.

Jose Callejon is also expected to start the game, Kaka will once again be on the bench.

Karim Benzema scored a fine goal against Barcelona after coming on as a second-half substitute, he is expected to start the game tonight ahead of Higuain, who was very wasteful against Barcelona.

Zaragoza have no fresh injury concerns, Paulo da Silva will once again marshal the defense. The player has completely recovered from a broken leg.

It is a top vs bottom clash tonight, Real Madrid lead the La Liga table, Zaragoza on the other hand are in the relegation zone. Real Madrid have 49 points from 19 games whereas the away team have only managed 12 points from 19 games.

Real Madrid will go 8 points clear of Barcelona should they win tonight, Barcelona will play against Villarreal in an away game soon after the Real Madrid game.
