Hi listeners! Seven points ahead, seven points ahead, seven, seven, seven points ahead! I thought I'd start with a nice musical (yeah, you have to read it chanting) opening, not only because it's the highlight of this Liga weekend, but also to put you in a good mood before we go back to the less pleasant events of earlier this week. Today, we had a double feature on our Q&A. Tanuj was so disappointed we didn't have a post-Clásico podcast I decided to make it up to him by including a few words about our last two Copa del Rey matches in today's Q&A. But Aaron, Tanuj and I had so much to share about it that instead of saying a few words, we ended up discussing it at length! But that doesn't mean we overlooked last night's Real Madrid vs. Zaragoza. We went on and discussed that game too, and Apakshit actually joined us for this second part: the more, the merrier!!! I hope you'll enjoy this special Q&A as much as we did recording it. Feel free to share your views, whether you agree or disagree with what was said! Off the top of my head, some of the topics that brought the most debated or controversial answers were: Is Özil Madrid's next Zidane?  Does Altintop bring anything to the team at all? How bad is it that we're out of the Copa del Rey? Below is a more detailed breakdown of what we discussed: PART 1: COPA DEL REY (Time mark: up to 01:04:30) 1- A few controversial topics (just to get over with them!)

  • Mourinho's statement about not being a Madridista
  • Pepe's behavior and the reactions that ensued
  • The refereeing of the second leg and whether it really affected our chances
  • Spain's peculiarity: wasting time by throwing two balls in the field
  • The Marcagate and rumors of divisions within the squad
  • Rumors about Mourinho leaving this summer and how reliable the Spanish and English sports media are

2- Surprising starting players

  • Altintop: pros & cons
  • Carvalho: was he really fit?
  • Granero: an analysis of what he brings to the team and his performances

3- What if...? (First leg vs. Second leg) 4- Positive things to remember

  • Is the Barça mental block over?

PART 2: REAL MADRID - ZARAGOZA (Time mark: from 01:04:30 on)

  • Sahin: not even benched - Is there room for him on the squad?  Is there room for both Granero and Sahin on the pitch?
  • Granero: we already discussed him a lot in part 1, so we limited ourselves here to how he could combine with other players than Alonso and the rumors about him leaving for Betis.
  • Özil: the magician is back! (was he ever gone really?) The next Zidane?
  • Benzema: was he a little "subdued" last night?
  • Kaká: his performances lately
  • Cristiano: a change in attitude? For how long? Was his goal offside or not? (trying to clear up the offside rule once and for all)
  • Man of the match?
  • Feeling about the upcoming games now that we're out of one competition
  • Our defensive mistakes in the first 15 minutes of the games lately

You can listen to the Q&A as an mp3 file, on our Youtube channel (uploading as we speak) or on iTunes
