Real Madrid overcame city Rivals Atletico Madrid by winning 4-1 but the match sparked off a war of a words between the president of Atletico Madrid Enrique Cerezo and Christiano Ronaldo. The two sat at the very same table at a recently concluded award ceremony.
"Will there be an award for kicking?," Ronaldo asked.
"You do the same. Pepe, [Ricardo] Carvalho, [Sergio] Ramos and that little guy with a lot of hair... Marcelo." Enrique Cerezo answered.
"You are talking about the best in the world," Ronaldo replied.
Jose Mourinho was also very critical of some of the challenges made by the Atletico Madrid defenders. According to Mourinho, Real Madrid players had to wear carbon shin pads in order to avoid getting injured.
On another note Barcelona played against Rayo last night and won 4-0, Alexis Sanchez starred in the win. Barcelona now have 31 points but have played one more game than Real Madrid.
Oh well, our neighbors couldn't help this time :-) By the way, is Cristiano's injury related to some hard tackles from Atleti's players or is it something else? The official RM website says "Grade I sprain and a contusion on the left ankle" and uses a pretty straightforward picture from the match, so...
The injury is because of some really nasty tackles on his ankle, maybe they were purposely trying to injure him.
You know what? This question will be debated in the next Q&A :-)
Sounds great :)
