Chicharito lets Madrid frustration out after Mexico winner

Javier Hernandez admits he is “frustrated” with life at Real Madrid.

The striker, on-loan at the Bernabeu from Manchester United until the end of the season, scored Mexico’s winner in a match against Ecuador over the weekend in front of 90,000 fans in Los Angeles.

And after the match he revealed his frustration with life in the Spanish capital to Fox Sports.

“My situation is frustrating,” he said. I participate, give my all in training, but as for playing in matches, the opportunities are minimal. I belong to a great team but I am not part of the important bit, the actual games.”

The 26-year-old has made just one start in La Liga and 12 more from the bench, with Carlo Ancelotti sticking rigidly to a front three of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo when all three are fit. He has netted three goals.

Two more starts have come in the Champions League but he has not found the back of the net in Europe. Chicharito has more often than not been used to give the legs of Benzema a rest when the hard work has been done, rarely has he been trusted to have an impact from the start.

“Sometimes my confidence is really low,” he continued. “Even though I’m trying to make it better, with the help of the people who are always by my side and who help me.”

Madrid will make a decision on the future of the striker come the end of the season but he is unlikely to remain with the current European champions.
