Money can’t buy you happiness

Money may not guarantee you happiness, but it can buy you a galactico or two and if they win the Champions League and/or La Liga, that’ll make you happy!

Real Madrid have retained their place as the most valuable football team in the world for a third straight year with a valuation of £2.13 billion and revenue of £489 million.  The top five are rounded out with Barcelona, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City.

Atletico Madrid are the only other Spanish club to make the top 20 coming in at #16.

I have been a Madridista since my first experience with Real Madrid while attending a game at the Bernabeu in 2010. Of course, I knew they existed before then, however, as a kid growing up in North America, I had my interests firmly planted in hockey, American football, basketball and the like. On that trip to Spain, our close friends decided it would be cool to check out a professional football match while we were there, and bought tickets to see Real Madrid play Osasuna. I was hooked. I fell in love with the beautiful game and Los Blancos. While I’m not a born Madrid fan, sometimes converts are the most passionate!


  1. And money doesn’t make your league competitive in Europe. The premiere league has been pretty bad the last several years.
