Casillas calls for calm over Lopetegui

Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has called for calm surrounding the future of Julen Lopetegui as Real Madrid coach. Lopetegui is under pressure at the Santiago Bernabéu with Los Blancos sitting seventh in LaLiga and on a run of three straight defeats. That run of poor results has led to reports that the former Spain coach could be sacked this week or following this weekend's El Clásico clash should the result not go in Madrid's favour. But Casillas, now playing at Lopetegui's former club Porto, has called for calm over the situation in a quickfire question-and-answer session on Twitter. "Stay calm," said Madrid's former No.1."The season has only just begun. Madrid fans are demanding but also understanding. There have been changes, important ones." A report in Marca on Sunday afternoon said Lopetegui was entering the 'final hours' of his time as Blancos boss but he now looks set to remain in charge for Tuesday's crucial Champions League home clash against Viktoria Plzen before heading to Barcelona for Sunday's Clásico.
