The rumours of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid will not stop until the French forward has arrived at the Santiago Bernabéu but they could, at least, be put on hold.
Mbappe is not only one of the best young players in the world but one of the best players – period. That he is coveted by Madrid, who want the best and demand the best, is no secret.
There is, however, no rush to bring the Paris Saint-Germain striker to Madrid just yet. At just 20 years of age, the striker has time on his side, and with Eden Hazard the big-name arrival for Madrid this summer, Mbappe has been targeted as next summer’s big recruit.
The PSG owner has already confirmed his star man will not leave the club this summer, especially with Neymar reportedly keen for a return to Barcelona, and Madrid will not force the French club’s hand, according to Marca.
Mbappe, although a Real Madrid fan when he was young, has also not come out publicly to force a move, seemingly happy in Paris and knowing that time is still on his side.
Should PSG fail in the Champions League again this summer, however, it would make life difficult for the capital club in holding on to their prized asset, allowing Madrid to make their move.
Fans should not be disappointed. Madrid have bought well this summer and with Karim Benzema enjoying a superb season in front of goal, Mbappe’s time will come.
