Madrid fans against Neymar signing

As the rumours surrounding the future of Neymar rumble on, we decided to ask Madrid fans whether they'd welcome the arrival of the Brazilian to the Santiago Bernabéu or not. With five days left of the summer transfer window, it remains unclear whether the Paris Saint-Germain man will opt for a return to Barcelona, a shock move to the Spanish capital or remain in France. Barcelona seem to be the front-runners, with the player also preferring a return back to Catalonia to be reunited with his friends and former teammates. Barça, however, are struggling to cut a deal with PSG to remain within Financial Fair Play regulations. The LaLiga champions are keen to include Ivan Rakitic or Ousmane Dembélé in any deal to cut the price tag and offload some much-needed wages. Neither seems keen on leaving the club according to reports in Spain. Meanwhile, Madrid seem to be taking a backseat and waiting until Barcelona's final offer is rejected before making their move. What do the Madrid fans think to signing the Brazilian? A former Barcelona man who seems keen on a move back to his former club - and Madrid's arch rivals. Would fans change their minds on the former Santos man should he start banging in the goals? Are his off-the-field antics too much? Is he a diver? Will he upset the dressing room at Madrid? Is all his baggage worthwhile for the undoubted quality he possesses? In a Madridismo.Org poll conducted on Twitter yesterday we asked the fans and 59 per cent did not want to sign the forward. Hardly a huge majority, but when you take into consideration that Neymar is, in quality terms, one of the best players in the world, the results say a lot. The 49 per cent in favour may look through his baggage and see his quality as a footballer, but they may also be swayed by Madrid's current form and seeming need for some more star quality in the squad. The fans are against his arrival - but will that stop Florentino Pérez thinking twice before signing the Brazilian superstar? Only time will tell.
