Rest for the Champions ahead of City test

Real Madrid have started their week-long rest period ahead of a return to training in preparation for an assault on the Champions League. Zinedine Zidane's men, crowned LaLiga champions last week, finished their campaign on Sunday night with a 2-2 draw against Leganes at Butarque. Now Los Blancos will rest ahead of returning to Valdebebas next week to start their preparations for the Champions League last-16 second leg clash with Manchester City next month. Zidane has given his side a week off but will expect his players to return to training in good shape as they look to overturn a 1-2 deficit against City and book a place in Lisbon for the final rounds.
