Zinedine Zidane has declared that he is “happy” with his Real Madrid squad as the end of the transfer window gets closer.
Zidane was asked in his press conference ahead of the Liga clash against Real Betis if there was any truth behind rumours suggesting Los Blancos could move for Edinson Cavani.
And although refusing to flat-out deny the rumour, the Blancos boss declared he was happy with the squad he currently has at his disposal, despite concerns over a lack of goals given the recent exits of James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale.
“Anything can happen until October 4,” Zidane said. “I’m happy with my squad. It’s the best, I’ve got complete confidence in it and we’re going to work hard to be physically in good shape. If we’re well prepared, we can compete and win, which is our objective. I’m not going to ask for anything.”
Forward Borja Mayoral is still expected to leave Madrid, with Italian giants Roma reported to be interested in the striker, while Luka Jovic’s future continues to be in the air.
